Your local board game café on Bristol's Gloucester Road

650+ games, six craft beer lines, proper coffee and a kitchen full of comfort food, on the city's longest independent high street.

We're on Gloucester Road in Bishopston, right among the delis, record shops, vintage stores and indie cafés that make this one of Bristol's most-loved independent strips. It's the more neighbourly of our two Bristol venues, the locals' local. Pop in after work for a pint and a quick game of something silly, bring the kids on a Saturday morning, or settle in for a long afternoon. Whatever you're after, our gaming gurus will find the right game for your group and teach you the rules, so nobody's left squinting at an instruction booklet.

  • 650+ board games to play
  • Six craft beer & cider lines
  • Proper espresso & tea
  • Comfort food all day
  • Dog-friendly

On Bristol's longest independent high street

You'll find us on Gloucester Road in Bishopston, the stretch Bristol City Council promotes as a centre of independent trade, surrounded by the delis, record shops and indie businesses that give BS7 its character. We're a short walk from Gloucester Road's shops and a hop from St Andrew's Park, in the heart of one of the friendliest corners of north Bristol.

We're dog-friendly, kid-friendly and very used to people just rocking up on spec. Looking for things to do on Gloucester Road, a relaxed evening in Bishopston, or somewhere to take the family on a wet Saturday? Pull up a chair. Walk-ins are welcome, but Friday and Saturday nights book up fast, so if you've got a group, get a table in.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to book?

Walk-ins are always welcome, but we get busy on evenings and weekends, so for Friday and Saturday nights, or any larger group, we'd strongly recommend booking a table ahead to avoid disappointment.

Is there a charge to play the games?

Yes, a small gaming admission fee gives you full access to our library of 650+ games. It's £2.50 per person per hour off-peak (Sunday 5pm to Friday 5pm) and £3.50 per person per hour peak (Friday 5pm to Sunday 5pm), and it's free for kids aged 14 and under. You pay this up front when you book.

Are dogs allowed?

Absolutely. We're dog-friendly throughout, so well-behaved four-legged friends are very welcome.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

We do. Our all-day menu includes vegan and gluten-free options. If you've got a specific requirement, just have a word with the team when you arrive and we'll help you find something.

Can you teach us how to play?

That's what our gaming gurus are for. Tell them who you're with and what you fancy, and they'll pick the perfect game and teach you the rules, so you spend less time reading instructions and more time playing.

Where are you, and how do I get there?

We're at 79–81 Gloucester Road, Bristol, BS7 8AS, in Bishopston. The venue is wheelchair accessible, just ask staff for assistance with the front door step.
