Whatever your reason for coming to Chance and Counters Cardiff, you can’t do much wrong with our alternative space in the heart of Wales’ iconic capital city. We can offer options that are anything from just a different space for your social, down to the best damn parties in town, with our team of expertly trained Games Gurus ready to get you rolling all night long.

We can host parties for groups of as little as 10, and right up to 50, dependent on your own needs and requirements. Options start from just basic room hire of our private upstairs space, up to having the venue as your own for a few short hours – and all the board games with it! These options can include hiring our coveted Games Gurus, to not only help with rules, but to lead your group, choose games for you, and be your very own private server of food and drinks for the evening. They can even join in with the fun if you need an extra pair of hands!

Option A: Upstairs (up to 20 people)

  • £100 deposit (covers all cover charges)
  • Extra hire options broken down into 2 different categories:
    • “Just the Room, Please” – starting from £200
      • Perfect if you want it just like a standard booking, but with a bit of extra privacy for your group.
      • Can rearrange / decorate the room however you want
      • Can order food and drinks as normal from our delicious menu
      • Please note: bookings will be subject to a minimum bar spend – this will be calculated based on your group before the event, and paid off as you buy food and drinks as normal
    • “Pre-paid Party Package” – starting from £330
      • Room prepared before arrival
      • One inclusive drink per person
      • Option of either:
        – a buffet based on our menu for the whole group; or
        – one individual meal per party goer
      • A selection of starters, bar snacks and nibbles on arrival
      • Option of a Party Guru for your group
      • 1 bottle of prosecco (this one’s on us!)

Option B: part-exclusive venue hire (20 -28 people)… starting from £550
Only available Sunday – Thursday | Perfect for big blowouts / larger business ice-breakers

  • £150 deposit (covers all cover charges)
  • Your booking will include the following things, but will be costed according to your group size and specifications:
    • One inclusive drink per person (option for 2)
    • A buffet based on our menu for the whole group
    • A selection of starters, bar snacks and nibbles
    • Party Guru for your group (option for 2)
    • 1 bottle of prosecco (this one’s on us!)

Option C: full-exclusive venue hire (30 -50 people)… starting from £930
Only available Sunday – Thursday | Perfect for big blowouts / larger business ice-breakers

  • £300 deposit (covers all cover charges and venue hire)
  • All of the following options are available, but on a grander scale than before!
    • One inclusive drink per person (option for 2)
    • A buffet based on our menu for the whole group
    • A selection of starters, bar snacks and nibbles
    • Party Guru for your group (option for 2)
    • 2 bottles of prosecco (on us!)
  • This particular option is really great for team bonding sessions, if you are interested in that kind of event, let us know when you email and we can sort out the perfect thing for your team.

    Terms & conditions

    • Upstairs hire is technically available every day, at any time, but it’s first come, first served, so get your booking in early
    • All other hires are only available Sunday – Thursday: again subject to booking conditions
    • Your deposit is required before we book you in – this must be paid ASAP to secure your booking
    • Final payment must be in advance (2 weeks before the event)
    • Any dietary requirements or special requests should be given at least one week in advance
    • Additional food and drinks are available for purchase separately on the day
    • Any cancellations within 7 days of the event are non-refundable
