Board game café · Leeds

Leeds' first dedicated board game café and games bar, on Merrion Street

500+ games over two floors, craft beer, cocktails and proper food, in the middle of Leeds' best night out.

We opened in late 2023 on Merrion Street, the buzzing strip in the city centre that's become one of the best nights out in the north, surrounded by neighbours like Parkside Tavern, Mojo and Roxy. We took over the former Yard & Coop unit, fitted it out with bespoke gaming tables and a wall of games, and brought something a bit different to a street already full of character. Café by day, bar by night, with gaming gurus on hand to find the right game for your group and teach you the rules.

In the middle of Merrion Street

You'll find us on Merrion Street in Leeds city centre, the lively strip of pubs, bars and restaurants that's become a staple of the city's nightlife. We're in the former Yard & Coop unit, with our bar, retail area, games and tables on the ground floor and an even bigger library and dedicated gaming tables upstairs.

We're a couple of minutes from the Grand Theatre, five from Trinity Leeds, and a short walk from Leeds station. Whether you're after the most original date night in Leeds, a Saturday out of the rain, or somewhere on Merrion Street that doesn't involve dancing until 3am, we've got a table for you. Walk-ins are welcome, but Friday and Saturday nights, get yourself booked in.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to book?

Walk-ins are always welcome, but we get busy on evenings and weekends, so for Friday and Saturday nights, or any larger group, we'd strongly recommend booking a table ahead to avoid disappointment. Do note we're closed on Mondays.

Is there a charge to play the games?

Yes, a small gaming admission fee gives you full access to our library of 500+ games. It's £2.50 per person per hour off-peak (Sunday 5pm to Friday 5pm) and £3.50 per person per hour peak (Friday 5pm to Sunday 5pm), and it's free for kids aged 14 and under. You pay this up front when you book.

Are dogs allowed?

Absolutely. We're dog-friendly throughout, so well-behaved four-legged friends are very welcome.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

We do. Our all-day menu includes vegan and gluten-free options. If you've got a specific requirement, just have a word with the team when you arrive and we'll help you find something.

Can you teach us how to play?

That's what our gaming gurus are for. Tell them who you're with and what you fancy, and they'll pick the perfect game and teach you the rules, so you spend less time reading instructions and more time playing.

Where are you, and how do I get there?

We're at 6–8 Merrion Street, Leeds, LS1 6PQ, in the city centre, a couple of minutes from the Grand Theatre and a short walk from Leeds station. Our games are spread across two floors.
